Training - Weather Policy

What to do if you're not sure about the weather

Summer Policy

Fleet Feet Sports will cancel a group training session if the following dangers are present:

    • Extreme heat conditions (heat index in excess of 100-110)
    • Thunderstorm - lightning is present
    • Tornado warnings and/or extremely high winds
    • Any other dangerous weather conditions, such as hail, extremely poor visibility, etc.

We will NOT cancel a session if it is simply raining - you never know what may happen on race day, so let's be prepared for anything!

Winter Policy

Fleet Feet Sports will cancel a group training session if the following dangers are present:

  • Extreme cold conditions
  • Actual temperature is 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below
  • Thunderstorm - lightning is present
  • Any other dangerous weather conditions, such as ice storm, hail, extremely poor visibility, etc.

We will NOT cancel a session if it is simply snowing or raining - you never know what may happen on race day, so let's be prepared for anything!

 "Wait and See Policy"

When bad weather is forecasted but not certain (i.e. Summer Afternoon Thunderstorms, etc.)  we will take a "Wait and See" stance.  Please understand that we invite you to attend practices under the "Wait and See" policy but we will potentially cancel on site if weather makes it necessary.

In the future we hope to be able to incorporate a method by which your coaches & mentors can communicating with you electronically.  Please be patient as we improve our process and procedures.
