Our process begins by ensuring that runners and walkers of all abilities (and ages) are fit with the proper footwear, sports bras and technical apparel to meet their individual needs.

Footwear FIT

We have always paid special attention to each customer's need to fit the right shoe - it's what we do best! The Personal FIT Process helps us do just that. Using our innovative Personal FIT Process, Fleet Feet team members guide runners and walkers through an extensive fitting process that ensures a proper fit. Below is a summary of the process each team member uses to make sure you are fitted into the best shoe for you. No appointment is necessary but please allow extra time when you come in to get fitted.

Step One: Welcome and Explanation of the Personal FIT Process

Every process has a beginning point, fitting our customers begins with “hello” and an explanation of the Personal FIT Process.

Step Two: Getting to Know You

We take time to ask questions about your current activity, such as how often you run, how far and if you have a goal in mind. We also discuss any existing or past injuries and talk about the footwear you currently use.

Step Three: Measurement

Measuring the Foot It is important that we take both non-weight bearing (seated) and weight bearing (standing) measurements to determine the reaction of the foot. From these measurements we can determine foot type and the support system that is proper for you.

We are not doctors, but the FIT process and our years of experience will help us fit you properly and determine any special needs.

Step Four: Gait Analysis

We observe as you run or walk a short distance. This helps us understand how you move and the biomechanics of your gait.

Step Five: Fitting and Recommendations

Based on our findings we will bring out the shoes that may work best for you. We'll carefully inspect the fit and watch as you run or walk in each shoe. We'll discuss the options, provide you with our recommendations and answer any questions.

Step Six: The Decision

This one is all you since you are the only person who knows how the shoes actually feel.

Step Seven: Ready to Go

Now that you've made a decision, we'll talk about how to properly break in your new shoes, help with any other product needs you may have and make sure you're ready to get the best results!



Determining your Bra Size

60%-80% of women wear the wrong bra size. Are you one? Weight loss, weight gain and pregnancy are some of the factors that can change your breast size and shape so it may be time to remeasure to ensure you get the best fit, and ultimately, the best support.

When taking your measurements, wear a lingerie bra that fits you well.

Step One:

• Measure snugly around your rib cage, just underneath your breasts. It should feel tight but not restrictive. Be sure that the tape measure lies straight all the way around.

• Add 5 inches to your rib cage measurement, then round to the nearest even number. The result is your bra size or band measurement.

Step Two:

• Measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape measure straight all the way around your body. Round this measurement to the nearest whole number.

• Subtract your bra size (band measurement) in step 1 from the bust measurement in step 2. The difference between the two determines your cup size.

Difference between bra size (band measurement) and bust measurement:

1=A cup
2=B cup
3=C cup
4=D cup
5=DD cup

It can be difficult to measure yourself, the process itself is not an exact science. If you have trouble and think you are not getting your correct size, check with our staff. They have been trained to properly fit and size.

Fit details to help guide you

Many sport bras are cross-sized to fit a small range of bra sizes, so look at breast coverage and breast movement. The bra cups should comfortably surround each breast to offer the greatest support. If the bra cups cut or bind try a larger cup size. If they wrinkle and have excess fabric try a smaller cup size.

The band should be comfortably snug to offer support, but not feel restrictive. If the band rides up in back, try a smaller or larger size and see if either fit better. If the band rides up in the front over the breast, try a larger cup size and/or smaller band size.
