Knoxville, TN -- December 29, 2015 -- This past Thanksgiving, the Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club raised $7,500 for A Hand Up For Women at their annual Hot to Trot 5k/10k & Fun Run. A Hand Up For Women gives hope to women who've been through unbelievable hardships by providing them with the tools to make a sustainable change in their lives. AHUFW has been the Hot to Trot race beneficiary for the past five years, and FFKRC is proud to support this incredible local charity with the help of Hot to Trot sponsors Publix, Tennova, and New Balance.
The Hot to Trot races are only one facet of Fleet Feet Knoxville's involvement with A Hand Up for Women. Walk Fit, Fleet Feet Knoxville's first walking only training group, began in Spring 2014 and has been offering free registrations to A Hand Up for Women participants since it's inception. New for 2016, Fleet Feet Knoxville will be offering a free Walk Fit program just for A Hand Up For Women participants. This new program will focus on the specific concerns of A Hand Up For Women participants, and will help them to incorporate fitness into their already robust curriculum. Fleet Feet believes physical health is a vital part of a person's well-being, and is excited to help these women open a new chapter in their lives!
